edocr appoints Smith & Smith PR

This morning I shook hands with Nathan Smith, Managing Director of Smith & Smith PR, appointing them as PR Agency for promotion of edocr over the next 3 months. Smith & Smith PR will be responsible for PR within the European Union. As part of the discussions, they will also work closely with Northern StartUp 2.0. The actual details will be worked out over the next week or so.

Today, we made available the much awaited special interest groups. At present, Group openings are controlled by edocr team until we are certain that everything is functioning as we expect. Please bear with us until we open up the functionality so that you can create special interest groups without our intevention. What you can do right now includes:

1. Choose a group when uploading a document.
2. Use document edit mode to assign an existing document to a group. This can only be performed by the original publisher or an edocr admin account holder.

Do you upload documents to your web sites? If so, would you like to liven your web site by showing the thumbnails instead of the less attractive pdf icon? Then, please follow the following simple instructions:

1. Upload the document to edocr
2. Copy and paste the “thumbnail for your site” code
3. Enjoy

It cannot be any simpler than that. In addition, you get three for the effort of one.

1. You could upload a .doc file and collect the .pdf from edocr - in this case, using edocr as a pdf writer

If you are new to edocr, I suggest you follow the following four simple steps:

1. Upload all of your public-facing documents - Make sure you do this on regular basis. See my post on tagging
2. Tell your friends and colleagues about your documents on edocr. Request them to visit your documents, and rank, comment, and embed on blogs. This will start others to follow your account, key tags and documents.
3. Analyse feedback. We can offer greater statistics once "edocr Pro" is available.
