Another team effort during my MBA at Manchester Business School. Here is the abstract:

Entrepreneurial ventures are characterised by the imbalance between the resources needed to survive and grow and those currently available. Venture capital (VC) is an important source of finance for those companies that have difficulty obtaining the more traditional sources of financing to bridge this imbalance. This paper will review the characteristics of the VC industry from the perspectives of the demand for finance by company owners and the VC firms who are in a position to meet this demand. It will then go on to form a conclusion regarding the resulting impact of VC finance on the performance of a VC backed company. Furthermore it will offer a series of recommendations for entrepreneurs considering the use of VC finance.
