SportingConnections is a free sports based community website designed to allow users of all sporting abilities, from beginners to professionals, to create online profiles and to meet up with other sportsmen and women locally and globally in order to play sport. The concept differs from MySpace and FaceBook in that the site is designed specifically to meet others to get out and get active with as opposed to making online friends just to chat and share videos etc.
You are also able to register your own sports team online and allow others to join your team, use a team Message board to stay in contact with your team mates, register upcoming events and participate in Sports Forums with other members from around the world. The site also has a sports calendar that allows members to add any upcoming sporting events and is searchable from within a certain distance of where you live; this is unique to Sportingconnections and is the first Calendar of it's kind.
SportingConnections is an international site with over 50 countries and 70 sports that include all the main stream sports as well as some of the more obscure sports; everything from walking, cyclying, running, football, basketball, soccer and golf, to the extreme sports of Motorcross, surfing, skateboarding, martial arts and Frisbee. If your sport is not on the site then you are able to have it added!
Sporting Connections is a fantastic utility for sports people around the world. It provides a perfect mechanism to allow people who are already into their sport to meet others of the same ability and, just as importantly, allows people who are keen to try out a new sport or get back into sport to find others to participate with.
