Enterprise software company HansaWorld has released SmartApps, a development environment for Nokia’s E-series smart phones. The move is expected to trigger an explosion of new application development, says HansaWorld chief executive Karl Bohlin.
Very interesting article. Do you have any plans to launch your products across other mobile phones (e.g. Sony Ericsson) and networks? Are the technology developed to allow smart phones to be part of corporate ERP assets?
Hello Manoj, I'll try to explain. First, the technology for using smart phones as part of corporate ERP assets exists - HansaWorld integrated ERP&CRM system works on Nokia smart phones just as it works on Windows, Mac or Linux. What I mean is that you can really do the same things, not only view but also add and edit data, write mails and fill your calendar etc. Concerning other phone producers, of course you never say never, but our main partner is Nokia. What do you mean with launching products across networks?
Siim, thanks for responding to my query. What I meant was do you need the participation of mobile network operators such as O2 and Vodafone to name a few, in order to deliver your product? Or is this simply down to the handset manufacturer?
