The Hardware Security Module (HSM) is a physical device that
connects to the same network as the BACSactive-IP
Server
and
houses the pr ivate keys used in the Public Key
Infrastructure (PKI ) that underpins BACSTEL-IP. The HSM is a
physically secure, tamperproof device that performs the
cryptography on behalf of BACSactive-IP.
