AGMA was established in 1986. Since then its function as the body representing the collective interests of the local authorities within Greater Manchester and its principles have remained largely unchanged.
As of 2 April we have become the Commission for the New Economy, responsible for leading on economic development, employment and skills on behalf of the Manchester city region.
