Do It Yourself Closet Organizers
Not all closets are created equal. Some are long and narrow, some are square and other closets are just 
too small. But no matter what your closet is like, there is a way you can fit what you need to in that  
closet with a little ingenuity and a little help with closet organizers.
Are you the kind of person that uses the closet to stuff anything that is in your way, or does not have a 
home of its own, into the closet? Do you remember the show Fiber McGee and remember his closet?  
Whenever the closet door opened a barrage of junk came cluttering down on some innocent bystander. 
Do you have a Fiber McGee closet? If you do then my suggestion is that, before you designed that 
organized closet, you dispose of some of those items that were thrown in there because they are surely 
not needed. Make a big box and deliver them to a charitable resale shop.
Now that most of the stuff is out, look at the size and shape of your closet. You may want to make a  
chart of the size and shape so you can use it to design your new and efficiently organized closet.
Making the most of your closet space depends on carefully calculating the space you need for clothing,  
shelving for blankets, pillows, quilts and other items that would be shelved. Then determine the area of 
the closet that would be best suited for these items. If you have the room for drawers but are not a  
handy builder then measure that space and find a chest of drawers that may fit into that space. As for 
shelving you can either build your shelves or buy the wire shelving that is so popular today. It's easy to  
install and comes in many sizes.
It is not difficult to organize the closet yourself. It just takes some creativity based on what you have to  
work with and the initiative to get up and do it.  There is no argument that you will be proud of your 
closet once you have finished the job.
