courses and in the healthcare setting in general.
COMPUTERS FOR THE HEALTHCARE SETTING is strongly recommended and includes:
Introduction to Computers
Microsoft Word
Keyboarding
Microsoft Excel
Keyboarding and Microsoft Word knowledge is required for this course.
PROGRAM
OVERVIEW:
Medical transcriptionists are in demand more than ever. Transcription services range from small home-
based businesses to large corporations. Medical Transcriptionists listen to physician dictation
(recordings) and transcribe the information into a professional format. In Term 1 of TTC's Medical
Transcriptionist Training Program, learn the basic medical knowledge needed to succeed in the field of
transcription and continuing into Term 3, you receive hands-on experience with dictation equipment
while being supervised by an expert in the field. Keyboarding and Microsoft Word knowledge is
required. To receive the Medical Transcriptionist Certificate, the student will need to take the
following courses.
The Medical Transcription Training Program is compliant with the standards of the American Association of Medical
Transcriptionists to better prepare our Medical Transcription students for the work environment.
