Call to Order
John Matthews called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM with a round of introductions.
The committee elected John Matthews Chairman.
Motion: Gesa Sklaroff, Linda Reichert second
The Committee elected Gesa Sklaroff Vice Chair.
Motion: John Matthews, Linda Reichert second.
Election of Secretary was tabled. Gesa volunteered to take minutes in the meantime.
The Committee also added Jim Fleming to its membership.
Charles Conwell stated that neither the township nor the committee should risk taxpayers’
money in producing events at the theater. He suggested re-writing the mission statement to
that effect, but others felt that would restrict the mission unnecessarily. Heather Reiffer
sought clarification on how Arts and Culture included such organizations as the Mill at
Anselma. Linda Reichert added that others had faced the same question by using “heritage”
instead of “culture”. Assured that culture was an inclusive term, the Committee approved
the Mission Statement as written.
