Caps for Sale Song
Words by Alicia Stanley, Sung to the tune of “The Farmer and the Dell
I like to sell my caps
walk around like you are selling your caps
I like to sell my caps
One will cost you fifty cents
I like to sell my caps
The monkeys stole my caps
pretend to hide cap behind your back
The monkeys stole my caps
Where did they go? I do not know and look around for missing caps
The monkeys stole my caps
My cap is on my head
put the cap back on your head
My cap is on my head
I take it off, and throw it down
and then throw it on the ground
And now it’s on the ground
and look down at it
My cap is on the ground
look down at the cap
My cap is on the ground
I pick it up to put it on
then pick it up
And now it’s on my head
and put the cap back on head
I found all of my caps
put your fisted hands into the air (like you are cheering),
I found all of my caps
The monkey had them up a tree
then act like you are pointing to the monkeys in a tree,
I found all of my caps
and then cheer again.
I like to sell my caps
walk around like you are selling your caps
I like to sell my caps
One will cost you fifty cents
I like to sell my caps
