The regular semi-monthly meeting of Newtown Borough Council was called to order at 7 P.M. on Tuesday,
July 10, 2007, by Council President, Marjorie E. Torongo. President Torongo asked those in attendance to join
her in a moment of silence followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Councillors Craig, Jaslow, King, Smith, Tomlinson and Torongo; Mayor Glenn D. Hains; Solicitor
Thomas J. Walsh, III; and Engineer Karyn Witkowski from Gilmore & Associates, Inc.

• The Police Report for June 2007 was presented
The Mayor noted that additional “Pedestrian” signs have been placed at Penn and Lincoln Avenue and
after the Toll Brothers construction, signs will be placed at Centre and Lincoln Avenues.
• Special Events
• 5K Run/Walk to be held on October 13, 2007, from 10-11 A.M., sponsored by the Recreation
Board and the Newtown Library Company. There will be no rain date.
