Carlos Menendez to Lead Global Debit at
MasterCard Worldwide
Appointment Indicates Continued Focus on Global Debit Business Growth

PURCHASE, N.Y.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--MasterCard Worldwide today announced that Carlos
Menendez is joining the company as Group Executive, Global Debit, effective September 1, 2010. Menendez will
have global responsibility for innovation, commercialization and development of go-to-market strategies for the
portfolio of MasterCard debit products around the world, including Debit MasterCard, Maestro and Cirrus brands.

Prior to joining MasterCard, Menendez held a number of positions at Citigroup, where his career spanned over 14
years. Most recently he was Chief Operating Officer for Western Europe, responsible for a full range of consumer
banking products across four European countries.
Menendez holds a BA from Harvard University, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania
and an MBA from The Wharton School.
