President’s Message
Here it is, a few days before Christmas and I’m sitting here thinking about what to write. The
Holiday Party was a success, it seemed that everyone that attended enjoyed it. My thanks go to Lou,
Walt and Rodney for their efforts, a job very well done. I would also like to thank everyone that donated
items for the raffles. This is what makes the festivities great.
I look back upon the last year at what we have accomplished and I am very proud to be a
member of CDFF and also the President of the Club. We are accomplishing a lot and being recognized
for our efforts in the things we do like Take a Vet Fishing, the Project Access and Casting for Recovery.
The support you, as members, give to these projects makes a difference. I hope that in the coming year
we will be able continue what we have started and I know we can.
Now it’s time to ask for help. We will be looking for volunteers for The Great Outdoor Show,
Saratoga County Fair; Take a Vet Fishing, on the water meetings, Tying Class (starts January 13th),
Casting Clinic and much more. For the tying classes we are looking for floor walkers, if you’re
interested please contact me. Signup sheets for the different events will be at the meeting. We are also
looking for help with some of the mundane behind the scenes thankless jobs such as someone to deal
with the media to announce our events or to help with conservation and so on. We cannot do it all
ourselves, many hands make light work they say. As a club of members we are looking for suggestions
for what you want to see or hear about at our meetings or a project you might want to get involved in so
let us know.
To the tiers of the club we need flies for Casting for Recovery, and the Outdoor Show raffle.
See you at the meeting Wednesday January 20th.
