Editor’s Desk
Campus News was redesigned last
year; this format launched Feb. 1, 2006.
We received an overwhelmingly positive
response regarding the redesigned version,
so we entered Campus News into a com-
petitive awards program. Last week, we
were notified that Campus News received
a finalist award in its category – see
Around Campus for the full story.
Since our last major redesign, we’ve made a few minor
improvements based upon reader’s feedback. The recent
survey also gave us an excellent snapshot of what more
than 600 readers think about this newsletter.
We continue to value and depend upon your input
about news and events from across campus. While we do
seek out and develop many of our stories, UNC Charlotte
is a big place – so we need your eyes and ears. Please con-
tinue to submit your news and tips to
campnews@email.uncc.edu.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you.

from which intellectual and social capital feed the Charlotte
region,” said David Dunn, vice chancellor for university relations
and community affairs.
The council will confer on key topics such as economic devel-
