Welcome, General Info and Tournament Rules
Welcome and thank you for participating this year and continuing to make this a competitive High
School Tournament. We are using four sites this year. Kauai High, Kapaa High, Waimea High and Island
School. We would appreciate your feedback on tourney organization and overall experience. We want you to
come back and be a positive force and reference for the tournament.
Running your sites will be individuals who have long standing history and experience in the Hawaii
volleyball community. They will do their best to move your sites along as smoothly as possible. This is a two
way street with all of us coaches, referees and court directors, and spectators cooperating to make this a good
experience for all.
Compete hard, respect others, and win or lose respond in Po’okela character. (Champion and
Shelton Tang will again be the overall tournament and court director at Kauai High. Shelton runs
Impact Volleyball Club in Honolulu and is a volunteer coach at the University of Hawaii for the women’s
volleyball program. We are again fortunate to have Debbie Koochi recruiting the officials (WAC and High
School officials) and as the Island School court director. Debbie runs Oahu Volleyball Club and is the USAV
Aloha Region Juniors Registrar and Treasurer. Peter Kruse of Kauai will be running the Waimea site. Peter
runs the Ho’oikaika Volleyball Club tournaments in May each year and has been su
