ASMAC (Training and
Advanced Studies in
Management and
Communications Ltd), India’s first
training/education-related
organisation to receive the ISO
9001:2008 certification, is looking to
go places.
With three campuses in Kolkata,
Pune and Bangalore and one in
London, Tasmac is now eager to
expand its global footprint.
ET spoke to Tasmac chairman
and MD Dr Giri Duaon the
expansion plans,
future educational
tie-ups and the
importance of
international
exposure for students.
You have several
campuses across
the country and
one abroad as
well. What is
your expansion
plan in terms of
new campuses?
Tasmac London
is exploring
various
collaborative
opportunities with
institutes around
the world — Africa, Europe, and
South-East Asia. In addition, we
are looking at other countries for
growth opportunities. Tasmac
London made us realise the
huge market that lies outside In-
dia, thus we are evaluating mar-
kets in other parts of the world.
We also plan to open up a
campus in the US.
What are the new courses
that Tasmac is gearing up
to offer?
Currently, we offer courses in
business management — in
both India and London. We are
looking to introduce courses in
IT and media in all our
campuses.
How important do you think
international exposure is for
the overall development of
students?
International exposure plays
a huge role in the overall
development of students. The
world today is global, and
students need to be able to oper-
ate on a global platform, in a
global environ-
ment. Through our
international
programmes, we
give exposure to
our students in
India — they have
the opportunity to
do a part of their
course in London.
What are the
new internation-
al tie-ups you
are looking at?
We are looking
at tie-ups with
various univer-
sities in the UK
and the US. We are
currently in talks.
We shall be introducing progra-
mmes in media and IT soon.
