PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
• Undertake technical studies and provide reports and recommendations to
improve the safety, reliability and operating performance of RailCorp train
systems and equipment both existing and future.
• Collate and report on reliability statistics on a weekly basis. The report is for
the consumption of CEO, Group General Managers, General Managers, the
Chief Engineer Rolling Stock, Maintenance Planning and Support Manager
and Fleet Managers plus associated staff.
• Analyse failure trends and patterns for systems/components in order to define
problem areas to be incorporated into reliability improvement programs
•
Implement reliability programs to increase the reliability, safety and cost
effectiveness of the RailCorp passenger rollingstock and associated
equipment for existing and future trains
• Analyse fleet performance to determine the effectiveness of maintenance
strategies, procedures and standards associated with the servicing, repair
and maintenance of RailCorp passenger rollingstock and associated
equipment to ensure the safe operation and maximum availability of the fleet.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Reliability Systems Engineer will report directly to the Principal Reliability
Engineer.
