EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Having completed the course the students should:
l have knowledge of and proficiency in mathematics to be able to teach
pupils at secondary and upper secondary school levels,
l be able to develop their subject knowledge and their readiness to meet new
situations and new material,
l have knowledge of the theoretical and practical application of mathematics,
l have knowledge of the logical structure of
mathematics and how a mathematical theory is
constructed,
l have the ability to identify and illustrate mathematical problems from
different perspectives to promote a totality,
l be able to discover the esthetic worth of mathematical patterns, forms and
links and become familiar with the historical
context when important mathematical concepts were developed and used
l have the ability to convey mathematical knowledge and understand the
importance of each individual’s participation in a democratic society,
l be able, individually or with others, to plan, carry out, evaluate and develop
education and teaching in accordance
with current local and national governing documents,
l have acquired such knowledge and proficiency that they can help pupils in
secondary and upper secondary schools as they
