EATONTOWN, N.J.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--EMRISE CORPORATION (NYSE Arca: ERI), a
multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, today
announced that it has received a $1.5 million follow-on order for radio frequency (RF) devices to be used in radio-
controlled improvised explosive device (RCIED) jamming systems for the U.S. military. Shipment of the order,
which was received from a long-standing customer, is expected to begin this quarter and to be completed by the end
of the third quarter of this year.
RCIED jamming systems are designed to prevent the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Often
called roadside bombs, IEDs wound or kill thousands of people in military conflicts and terrorist attacks around the
world.
The order was received by the Company’s Advanced Control Components, Inc. (ACC) subsidiary from a large
multi-national systems integrator involved in supplying RCIED jamming systems to the US military. ACC develops
and supplies a wide variety of RF and microwave devices, including RF devices to support RCIED jamming
systems.
EMRISE Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva said the Company believes that its continuing flow of RF device
orders for use in RCIED jamming systems indicates that these life saving systems continue to be an important part of
the priority “force protection” programs of the U.S. Department of Defense.
“We are very pleased to secure this order for RCIED jamming systems,” Oliva said. “We believe it is an indication
of the continuing strength of our business for these technologically sophisticated jamming systems, not only for
MRAP combat vehicles but also for a range of unarmored support vehicles used by the U.S. military.”
