The aim of this qualification is to ensure that student teachers are offered
equitable opportunities to access programs that will allow them to pursue a
career in early childhood education. The qualification provides a strong
foundation of knowledge and practice in early childhood education and
equips student teachers with the skills, motivation and strategies to succeed in
higher level study.

! Must turn 17 within one month of starting program.
! Must have completed four years of secondary schooling (if under 20

! Must enjoy a level of health that will allow you to meet the requirements

! Must declare any physical or learning disability that may impair your
performance as a student or a student teacher.
! Must succeed in a personal interview.
Student teachers with English as a second language must have an English
proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Academic).
