The Wonder of Books
The whole school have had a fantastic day today, celebrating World Book Day.
The staff all dressed as characters from the Harry Potter books, led by Head-
master Professor Albus Dumbledore himself. Among the children there were
two or three Harrys, but the old favourites of Captain Hook and Cinderella still
proved very popular.
Different classes worked to-
gether this morning, to make their own
books. It was a pleasure to see older chil-
dren helping younger children, and every-
one clearly enjoyed the experience. In the
afternoon, Professor McGonagall and Pro-
fessor Dumbledore read some of their fa-
vourite stories to the children.
Huge thanks to Mrs Nash, for
co-ordinating the day, and to
everyone who dressed up and
joined in so enthusiastically.

Purim is coming!
In two weeks’ time it will be Purim - a very en-
joyable festival in the Jewish calendar, and a
time of dressing up!
Rather than ask the pupils to wear
costumes again, we thought chil-
dren could come to school on
Wednesday 19th March in their most interest-
ing or unusual headgear - hats or hair! They can
also wear casual clothes for the day (though
please remember our usual rules - no rips in
jeans, and girls must wear a skirt or dress). If
children do come out of school uniform, we ask
for a donation of £1 from each family, to be
collected on the day. Mrs Cohen will use the
money collected to make Mishloach manot (gift
baskets full of food), which will go to the eld-
erly residents of Andrew Cohen House.
