Desiring Spiritual Gifts
1 Corinthians 12:1
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul is laying a foundation for spiritual gifts in his instructions
to the New Testament Church. He points out the importance of understanding and operating your
spiritual gift. In verse 1 of Chapter 12, he states I don’t want you to be ignorant concerning your
spiritual gifts nor do I want you to combine old wives fables, witchcraft, or idolatry (idol-
worshipping) - I want you to know the voice of God!
It is the Holy Spirit that convicts and convinces one of the transforming power of God. Many of
you tonight have deep concerns regarding your spiritual gifts.
1. How to identify your gift?

3. Godly timing?
There are 9 Gifts of the Spirit, Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Faith, Healing,
Working of Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, Divers Tongues and Interpretation
of Tongues. Strangely, the answer to the questions that were posed in tonight’s lesson were not
answered in chapter 12, but in chapter 13, the Apo
