I
n the past decade, we have witnessed
monumental changes to the energy
landscape. The massive scale of activity
in the U.S. domestic market is spurring
a broad spectrum of growth across
all aspects of the considerable supply
chain and delivery infrastructure. In the
mature fields arena, national oil companies
are experimenting with new business
models to rejuvenate production and make
further use of existing infrastructure.
We are also seeing private, independent
exploration and production start-ups
bringing new waves of innovation to several
key provinces around the world. These shifts
are creating inflections in global supply
and demand balance, rewiring geopolitical
dependencies, and placing the energy
industry more in the spotlight today than
ever before.
With such a backdrop, we need to be
looking through a different lens as we
position for the challenges that both our
customers, and the world, will face in the
coming years.
A plan to build on
Earlier this year, we laid the groundwork
for a new strategy that aligns with our
customer challenges and builds solidly on
our core competencies:

its roster some of the most influential
well technologies of the modern
petroleum age. This is our DNA. As the
primary interface with the reservoir,
wells are still at the epicenter of our
customers’ development plans and
redefining the technical and commercial
