AGENCY: Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
ACTION: Notice of Study and Request for Information
SUMMARY: Pursuant to section 313(b) of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions
Act of 2003 (FACT Act), the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Sys tem is
conducting a study on investigations by furnishers of consumer information to consumer
reporting agencies when that information is disputed. The FACT Act generally amends
the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In preparing this study, the Board requests public
comment on a number of issues relating to the prompt investigation, completeness, and
correction or deletion of information reported to credit reporting agencies.
