PhD/postdoctoral position in physics
A position is available at the IMP in Vienna in an interdisciplinary research project in
neuroscience. The project aims to implement and exploit novel multiphoton imaging
systems to study information processing and storage in neural circuits of the fruit
fly Drosophila. Applicants should have a strong background in applied physics or
optical engineering, and an interest in using these skills to explore major questions in
neuroscience. Experience in programming, hardware controlling, and quantitative data
analysis are essential.
The IMP is a basic research institute in the life sciences, offering state-of-the-art research
facilities and a vibrant, international community. The working language is English.
PhD and postdoc positions are funded for 3 years, with the possibility of extension.
