Artisan House Milestones
BJ Keith joins the Artisan House
stable of master artists. She
becomes the company’s most
prolific artist. During her 30 years
with the company, she is responsible
for opening the floodgates for
future design by introducing non-
representational artworks into the
Los Angeles based artist Jerry Fels
and creative technical expert Kurt
Freiler branch out from jewelry
making to create more substantial
works of art and Artisan House is
Jerry and Kurt combine their names
to create the C. Jeré “nom d’artiste”
that is signed to every Artisan
House creation and has become
synonymous with excellence in
metalworks of art.
Company president Henry Goldman
becomes a founding board member
of ARTS. He goes on to serve as
treasurer for the organization until
his retirement in 1995.
Artisan House debuts Kaleidoscope,
its first ground breaking and multi-
design. It would go on to be a
perennial favorite and is still a best
selling item in the collection today.
John Shilling becomes owner of
Artisan House and goes on to triple
sales in three years.
Artisan House opens its Las Vegas
permanent showroom at the World
Market Center complementing its
IHFC High Point showroom.
Designer Jonathan Adler establishes
an exclusive partnership with
Artisan House to produce several of
its iconic vintage designs.
Artisan House exhibits at its first
European shows; Maison et Objet in
Paris and Ambiente in Frankfurt.
European corporate office and
warehouse is established in the UK
under the direction of Global Sales
Manager Connie Rayburn.
