Resident care
Assist Residents with all routine cares safely including:
• Bathing [including help with personal cares to the same
standard that we ourselves enjoy]
• Dressing [ensuring that we are proud of how our residents look at
all times]
• Eating a healthy diet [including serving food in a form that is
suitable for individual residents to eat & enjoy – i.e. mashing &
cutting up as necessary and ensuring it is attractively presented
and at the correct temperature]
• Mobilising [By NOT doing things FOR our residents but actively
encouraging them to do as much for themselves as possible
within the confines of their desires and abilities]
• Enjoying daily activities of living [To make all activities in the
Home as pleasurable as possible for the residents and to
remember at all times that this is THE RESIDENT’S HOME as well as
YOUR PLACE OF WORK.
• To go about your work as quietly and discreetly as possible.
• To spend any down time with residents helping them with small
tasks rather than chatting to visitors or other staff.
• To think of enjoyable events and outings and to help with these.
• Help keep Resident belongings organised, tidy & in good repair.
• Help residents with Hair, as needed so they look and are well
cared for at all times.
• Activities to help residents enjoyment & / or to optimise resident
rehabilitation
Also:
1. Observe and report any changes in the resident’s physical condition
and vital signs.
2. Maintain the privacy, dignity and comfort of residents in the home &
help them to main this if they need such help.
3. Know & work within the policies and protocols in the home.
