Englewood
is a city
located in Bergen
County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census,
the city had a total population of 26,203.
Englewood was incorporated as a city by
an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on
March 17, 1899, from portions of Ridgefield
Township and the remaining portions of
Englewood Township. With the creation of
the City of Englewood, Englewood Township
was dissolved. An earlier referendum on
March 10, 1896, was declared unconstitu-
tional.[7]

Englewood is located at 40°53’36" North,
73°58’33" West (40.893343, -73.975801).[8]
According to the United States Census
Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.8.km2
(4.9 sq mi). 4.9 square miles (12.7 km2) of it
is land and 0.20% is water.
