President’s Message
Members Newsletter July 2010 P1
Welcome to the City Limits Club Newsletter!
As you may have heard, Agnes Dorricott, Dana Taylor
and Yvonne Harrold tendered their resignations as elected of-
ficers for the City Limits Club. These three ladies have worked
tirelessly over the years for the good of the club and I would
like to thank them for the countless hours they have spent and
the wonderful job that they have done ensuring that players
had a great time playing for the City Limits club. They are not
lost to the club, though, as they are staying on as committee
members to lend support to the new elected officers.
You may have also noticed or been affected by
changes to teams in recent weeks. The stadium met with all
clubs to discuss the “flattening” out of teams to strengthen
the competition. No one really benefits by winning or losing
by huge margins. The directive from the stadium was that
if a club had more than one team in any age division, the
teams were to be evened out in strength. This has proved a
challenge over the last weeks as we tried to maintain a bal-
ance in teams while complying with this requirement. Thank
you to all the coaches who helped in this process. We are
hoping the changes allow the players to participate in close
matches while extending their circle of basketball friends
and having fun playing against other friends.
We are looking to have a manager for each team
to take responsibility for the singlets and provide a point of
contact for the team for any communication or last minute
draw changes (please email info@citylimits.org.au with con-
tact details). We also encourage all parents to become fa-
miliar with doing the bench as each team should be provid-
ing someone for each game.
At the end of the day, it is the player’s enjoyment of
the game that is important and I hope the season proves to
be fun and successful for all.
