eBay Introduces Art World's Online Marketplace
eBay Expands and Improves Services and Offerings to the High-End Art Market
San Jose, CA, January 5, 2001 – eBay Inc. (www.ebay.com; NASDAQ: EBAY), the world’s online trading
community, today announced a new showcase for premium art, antiques and rare collectibles called eBay Premier,
available at www.ebaypremier.com. The specialty site on eBay expands and improves upon the previously existing
eBay Great Collections site, and is a result of the company’s close collaboration with its many partners in the art
world. By listening to and tapping into the knowledge of the experts – auction houses, galleries, dealers, and
collectors – eBay has improved its offering to the art world with the goal of making eBay Premier the preferred
destination for buying or selling works of art online.

With the launch of eBay Premier, the company plans to introduce new value added services for art enthusiasts,
including a comprehensive art database, which will provide one-stop access to historical data of millions of artworks,
new category-specific content, and scheduled theme sales. Other new features of eBay Premier include a
user-friendly, easy to navigate interface, enhanced help menus, and a new “Premier Guarantee” program in which all
sellers will stand behind and guarantee the authenticity of their items on eBay Premier. In the unlikely event that there

purchase price to the buyer up to $50,000.
