Educating Women
In many poor countries, women and girls have little or no access to education. A right to be
educated, irrespective of who you are, education is very important in a person’s life.
This however, is failed to apply, because of cultural reasons, where some cultures only allow
boys to attend school ,while the girls are forbidden to read and write. In India, women started
learning to read and write, in the late nineteenth century, though, even now some are still not
literate, things have changed.
A women needs to be educated, in the result of this her children are educated too. The
knowledge of birth control, illnesses, to get out of poverty, to learn more valuable lessons. If
a woman is educated, there are wide-open options, participate, in sports, learn about their
bodies, try delay marriages, so that they can have a good standard of living. To be
independent, have a career and be able to support their families. Imagine if you couldn’t
read and write, life without an education, not knowing the name of your street, or the store in
your vicinity and not reading numbers. Some children don’t go to school because, they can’t
afford to buy books, school uniforms, paying of school fees, families are neglected and
generally, there are no opportunities available.
With a sixty four per cent of adults that are illiterate, and over two thirds of girls lack the
education because of poverty is a sad situation.
Times have changed, and, now women can make a difference to their communities, and,
escape poverty, to learn more from life than just being stay home mums, and, not providing
for their families.
An education should be important to everyone, and, be free to face up to challenges, and be
successful.
