PDTA Executive Committee Meeting

Absent: K. Shield
1. Executive Committee Info Sheet: Committee members updated information along
with cell phone numbers.
2. District Meeting Calendar: B. Shapiro distributed copies of the district meeting
calendar.
3. Committee Rosters/JR Assistant Building Rep: Several committee vacancies
need to be filled. Mary McConville will be the new JR Assistant rep.
4. Membership Drive: The membership drive is underway. Building Reps should
make contact with new staff to encourage them to join.
5. Professional Learning Requirement: Julie Barker supplied B. Shapiro with an
updated list of records. As of now, no problems were noted.
6. DPT Member: There is an opening. It would be nice to have a MS representative.
If interested, contact B. Shapiro.
7.
IST: No new update. P. VanGraafeiland will continue to chair this negotiations
committee. A final report is expected very soon.
8. APPR: There are now new, different opportunities for tenured staff to be evaluated
through this process. One of these new opportunities includes peer review.
Workshops may be offered at the TC. Peer review is an alternative and is NOT
required. Rules are different for untenured staff.
9. Health Fund Settlement/Request Forms: B. Shapiro distributed a copy of the
Employee Request Form for a prorated Health Fund (for those who are not on the
payroll as of October 1).
10. Sick Leave Bank: The reserve is very low. As per the bank’s guidelines, when the
number drops below 500, we can assess more day(s). We are looking at when and
how we can collect those days.
