NOTICE OF EMERGENCY RULE-MAKING
AND PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Arkansas Department of Labor has requested that the Arkansas Board of Electrical
Examiners adopt an emergency regulation amending Rule 010.13-013(I) of the Rules of the
Board. The emergency regulation, if adopted by the Board, will be effective November 19,
2008, and will remain in effect for 120 days or until replaced by a permanent regulation
addressing the same issues.
The purpose of the regulation is to permit an applicant to obtain a temporary journeyman
license with 4 years or 8,000 hours of electrical construction experience as an alternative means
A public hearing will be held before the Board of Electrical Examiners on the proposed
emergency regulation on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 216 of the offices
of the Arkansas Department of Labor, 10421 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas
72205. A subsequent public hearing will be held before the Board of Electrical Examiners on
whether the emergency regulation, if adopted, should become permanent on Tuesday, January
20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 216 of the offices of the Arkansas Department of Labor, 10421
West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205. Written comment on the proposed rule will
be accepted through 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, by the Department of Labor at
the preceding address. A copy of the emergency regulation and proposed permanent regulation
