In this programme you will develop the wide range of skills
and knowledge required of professionals in the bar and
coffee (café) service areas of the hospitality industry. The
programme focuses on café and bar service including
counter service, food preparation and barista knowledge.
You will also undertake work experience within Otago
Polytechnic’s hospitality training facilities. Students who
successfully complete this programme will have earned
the equivalent of sixty credits towards the Certificate in
Restaurant, Bar and Wine (Level 4) and the National Diploma
in Hospitality (Management) (Level 5).

Academic: Entry to this programme is open.
International Students: Must meet all stated entry requirements, plus
demonstrate English language skills equivalent to an IELTS overall band
score (academic) of 6.0 (with writing and speaking no less than 6.0 and
reading and listening no less than 5.5).
Applications will be accepted in order of receipt and processed after
closing date. Should the number of applicants who meet the selection
process requirements exceed the available places, a waitlist in priority
order will be used.
