Major Gifts and Pledges!
Pew Charitable Trusts - $240,000
Pew Charitable Trusts has given $240,000 over the next four years to Jennifer DeLuca in
the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for her research into how cells
divide, a process known as mitosis. Dr. DeLuca has been named 1 of only 17 Pew
Scholars in Biomedical Sciences in the nation for 2009.
The Griffin Foundation, Inc. - $100,000
The generosity of The Griffin Foundation has benefited students, faculty, and staff across
the entire campus in so many ways. Their most recent pledge payment of $100,000 will
enable the CS Department to continue to outfit the new Computer Science Building with
furniture for faculty offices and provide new technology for our students with disabilities.
American Chemical Society - $26,000
The American Chemical Society has donated $26,000 in support of Chemistry Graduate
Fellowships.
Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation, Inc. -
$12,500
The ARCS Foundation donated $12,500 to the College of Natural Sciences ARCS
Foundation Scholarship—enabling us to provide much needed financial support to our
hardworking, talented students.
Mrs. Cheryl A. Bush - $10,000
A $10,000 gift was made by Mrs. Bush in support of Chemistry Graduate Fellowships in
memory of her husband Rodney, displaying her consistent dedication to our first-year
organic chemistry students in the College of Natural Sciences.
