October lived up to it's theme as a "Circus of Stars"
The month of October was just like a 3-Ring Circus with three cool Cub
Scout activities to kick off the new year. We started out with our annual
Popcorn sales fundraiser with performances by our star salesmen. We
had a circus of activities at the Lions Camp where everyone had a starring
role in the Obstacle Course of Doom. The Leesburg Halloween Parade
certainly had its share of wild creatures and strange acts! What a
tremendous Scouting start to what is sure to be an awesome year.
Are you a collector?
November's theme is Cub Scout Collectors. Many of us collect all sorts of
things as a hobby. It can be stamps, coins, baseball cards, or bugs. As a
Cub Scout, we are collectors of a different kind. We collect money for our
popcorn sales. We collect awards for our hard work. Most importantly,
the community collects Goodwill from us. We do the most important
collecting as a Cub Scout in November. This past weekend, your den
passed out Scouting for Food bags to collect food for Thanksgiving. We
will all be out this upcoming weekend to collect the food. This annual
pilgrimage through your neighborhood is the perfect example of how we
"Do a Good Turn Daily".
We're not quite done collecting yet!!
Food is not our only collection item this month. The pack is supporting
the needs of a local Loudoun County based charity in need of hats,
