The weather is cooling, but events in the Arts District are just warming up! Shops are full
of new things to see, restaurants and coffee shops are open, new members and shows
are up. Read on to see some of the events planned for October, November and
December. And remember, check the calendar on the website www.dadaws.org, for last
minute additions. On Friday, October 29, come celebrate the 4th Annual Spooktacular.
Kick-off the holiday season the first weekend in November with the First Friday Gallery
Hop. On Friday, and Saturday November 12 and 13 The Birthday Celebration for
Winston-Salem is all over Downtown including the Arts District, with shops open regular
hours and extended until 8pm. Piedmont Craftsmen has their annual Fair at the
convention center November 19-21, followed by December Gallery Hop. And during the
week, shops and restaurants are open, classes and galleries are open.. read on!
The Downtown Arts District presents the Fourth Annual Spooktacular on Friday,
October 29 from 7-10 with special treats and tricks. The costume contest always brings
out the creatures and wild children in disguises, with prizes and kids activities, acrobats
from NCSA and fire jugglers, music and beverages, all FREE to the public.
First Friday Hop
November First Friday Gallery Hop follows the next weekend with shops and studios
ready for the shopping season. Shops and galleries are open with new work and new
inspiration, from 7-10 Friday, November 5. The November hop features music, a raku
firing, and alban elved dance company will be performing during the Friday, November
5th Gallery Hop, with the special atmosphere that is only found at the Gallery Hop.
Earthbound Arts Ready for Holiday
November is the month for family Holiday Feasts. Earthbound Arts has created plenty of
goodies for the Thanksgiving table, including our famous pickled Party Beets, delicious
