Susan Karcher is a faculty member of the Department of Biological Sciences at
Purdue University where she teaches laboratories in genetics and cell and molecular
biology. She received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of
Wisconsin at Madison, and her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California
at San Diego. She did postdoctoral work in the Department of Genetics at the
University of Washington. She has written a laboratory textbook Molecular Biology:
A Project Approach published by Academic Press. Susan has been an ABLE member
since 1990. She has presented three major workshops. She has served as proceedings
editor and major workshop selection committee chair. She hosted the 1995 ABLE
meeting at Purdue University.
