VACATION HOME RENTALS
All vacation rentals in the City of South Lake Tahoe (including condominiums and townhouses) are subject
to the Transient Occupancy Tax and the South Lake Tahoe Tourism Improvement District (SLTTID) tax,
and owners must obtain a Vacation Home Rental permit for the property. The property cannot be rented until
a Vacation Home Rental permit has been issued.
VACATION HOME RENTAL PERMIT
The completed and signed application, required fee, and parking information must be received by the City
Finance Department in order for the application to be complete. Permits will not be issued if all information
is not received.
Once the application is complete, City staff will prepare a Permit and a Notice to be posted inside the home
easily accessible by the guest (inside front door, posted on refrigerator, ext.) of the vacation rental home. The
permit will be mailed to the owner or the property manager.
