Academy For Working Children
HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE
Humana People to People India plans to establish 100 Academies for Working Children over
the next 8 years to help achieve the Millennium Development Goal to provide Universal
Primary Education for all their children. We hereby invite individuals and companies to
become a supporter for your local study centre of 100 children. This you can do by pledging
Rs 500 per month for three years.
Why is there a need for Academy for Working Children?
Thousands of children in India do not access their right to education. These are children from

Academy for Working Children
The idea is to create a modern school where street and working children can come for 3
hours basic education every day, and where illiterate youth can come and study in an open
environment that address their specific needs. It is important that the students feel welcome
and experience that the teachers care for them and that the centers are there to help them to
enter the modern world.
The structure of the education
1 Academy consists of 4 study centers under 1 headmaster. Each Study Centre has 3
teachers and app. 100 students. They are studying the curriculum of class 1-3 and class 4-8.
