Cellulite Reduction
Cellulite is a condition in which skin looks dimpled as a result of subcutaneous clumps of fat. It
is particularly unsightly and can seriously compromise a woman's look. Women are therefore
understandably keen to reduce cellulite as much as possible.
At Cosmetic Rejuvenation & Medical Center we have developed a novel protocol for cellulite
reduction. It involves a combination of Infrared Body Wrap with LipoLaser treatment.
It is believed that cellulite is caused by the accumulation of solidified clumps of fat that make the
skin look dimpled and lumpy from the outside. It is suspected that the clumps form because the
deposition of fat reduces blood flow to the area, which makes it more difficult for the fat to be
metabolized as normal, since adequate blood flow is needed for the fat to be processed.
Essentially a vicious circle is produced in which the deposition of fat reduces blood flow to the
area, which in turn favors even more deposition of fat and hence further reduction of blood flow,
which makes it less likely that the fat will be burnt metabolically. The elimination of these fat
deposits would therefore be favored if blood flow could somehow be increased to the relevant
areas. To this end, we use the Infrared Body Wrap to apply heat to the area. This has two
effects: it causes vasodilation (the widening of blood vessels), which increases blood flow to the
area. The increase in temperature caused by the Infrared Body Wrap also favors the transition of
the fat deposits from the solid state to the liquid state, making them much more likely to be
absorbed into the system and be processed metabolically. The heat treatment provided by the
Infrared Body Wrap also improves and stimulates circulation, and it can also relieve pain
(particularly when it is of an arthritic nature).
When the Infrared Body Wrap is combined with LipoLaser treatment, it can be a very effective
way of reducing cellulite. LipoLaser treatment involves using cold red laser to disrupt
