Cedar Island PTO Minutes – October 4th 2008
Meeting was called to order by Sara Krueger at 7:06 p.m.
Attendees: 25 parents and 3 staff
Target Check: Toni Sammartano presented Cedar Island with a check for $1629.
Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases to your designated school (i.e. Cedar
Island). There are currently 125 families that have designated Cedar Island as
their school when using a Target Red Card. Toni also mentioned that Target gives
away grants for 5000 field trips a year. For more information go to

Treasures Report: Shannon Manning
Students have sold $40,000 in Innisbrook products. Our goal was $40,000. We
are $340 over budget with the fund raiser buyout option.
Principal’s Report: Dan Wald
Thank you to Leslie Lundgren and Shannon Manning for running another very well
organized Innisbrook fundraiser.
Conferences – all parents should know about conferences if not they should contact
the school.
There will be sessions about the upcoming levy during conferences. Dates and times
to follow.
October 10th – No School. This will be a staff development day.
There will be a Campus Steering Committee survey coming out to provide a baseline
for determining what the critical issues are for the Campus.
Mr. Wald has jury duty starting October 27th.
Volunteer Update: Kathy Nistler for Barb Lindsay
Barb has received 125 volunteer applications with more trickling in. Reminder that
an application must be filled out every year for everyone volunteering at Cedar
Island.
Barb will be attending two days of training in October offered by the Minnesota
Association for Volunteer Administration. She will be out of school at this training
on October 14 and 28
Many thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make last week’s Barbeque go
smoothly!

will be open two of our three conference nights as well as before school on the 23rd
