Jane Goodall Institute
Ecojot creates an exclusive line of journal that will benefit the Jane Goodall Institute
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2010 -- Ecojot, a manufacturer of eclectic notecards, journals, cards and
calendars based 100 percent on post-consumer recycled materials, has leveraged its pro-social position in a new
relationship with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI). At the New York Stationery Show on May 14, 2010, the
company unveiled a new collection of journals and children’s sketchbooks. The proceeds from the line will
support JGI, including its global environmental and humanitarian youth program, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots.
Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, JGI’s founder and a UN Messenger of Peace, is world renowned for her groundbreaking
chimpanzee behavioral research, which transformed scientific perceptions of the relationship between humans and
animals. Founded in 1977, JGI continues Dr. Goodall’s research and is a global leader in the effort to protect
chimpanzees and their habitats. The Institute also is widely recognized for establishing innovative
community-centered conservation and development programs in Africa, as well as Jane Goodall’s Roots &
Shoots. JGI and its iconic founder have long recognized the efforts of companies – such as Ecojot – that take
positive steps toward making the world a better place.
The covers of Ecojot’s new collection of journals and sketchbooks will feature unique illustrations of endangered
species, including chimpanzees, which Dr. Goodall has studied and advocated for over the past 50 years. In
addition, the line will feature giant pandas, Sumatran rhinos and whooping cranes, which are discussed at length
in Dr. Goodall’s most recent book, “Hope For Animals and Their World,” which was published in the fall of
2009.
