IAME 2007 Conference
We are very pleased to announce that the Interna-
tional Association of Maritime Economists (IAME)
Annual Conference 2007, will take place for the first
time in Athens, Greece on July 4-6, 2007. The Con-
ference will be hosted by ALBA Graduate Business
School. Chairman is Dr. Ilias Visvikis, Assistant Pro-
fessor of Finance, ALBA.
The IAME Conference is organized in a different country every year, by a
different academic institution, and is characterized by high quality and in-
creasing participation. During the last six years, the countries that have
hosted the IAME Conference are: Italy (2000), Hong Kong (2001), Panama
(2002), Korea (2003), Turkey (2004), Cyprus (2005) and Australia (2006).
The IAME Conference covers the areas of Shipping Economics, Ship Fi-
nance, Maritime Policy and Management, Port Policy, and Logistics,
amongst others, which are relevant with tramp and liner shipping. It usu-
ally attracts 200-250 Academics from all over the world, mainly from North
America, Europe and East Asia, as well as around the same number of mari-
time business practitioners, including middle and senior level company ex-
ecutives, presidents of Maritime Associations, and delegates of Port Authori-
ties and Maritime Organizations, amongst others.
