EASTER CRICKET COACHING
The MCC and Rugby School are hosting a 4 day cricket course for girls and boys aged 8 -18
this Easter from 6 to 9 April inclusive.
Fantastic facilities, professional coaching and action packed – this is a superb opportunity
to improve your skills, make new friends and have some fun.
The School has fantastic facilities including 12 grass nets, 4 indoor nets and 2 bowling
machines and is set in a magnificent location.
Children will be coached by Rugby School’s cricket professional – Gary Brent, former Zimbabwean
Test Cricketer, Kingsley Went – ECB Level 3 and cricket professional at The Dragon School supported
by additional ECB qualified coaches. All are CRB checked.
Course Structure and Content
Students can opt to come either in the morning or afternoon and will be taught according to their
experience and ability – giving everyone the opportunity to develop their skills and have some fun in
an action-packed daily three hour session.
9.30am – 12.30pm for all four days
1.30pm – 4.30pm for all four days
Each session will consist of:
o A warm up
o A technical session
o A game related session
o A cool down and stretch
The course will focus on the following:
o Batting - technical and tactical
o Bowling - technical and tactical
o Catching - different techniques for the different occasions
o Throwing technical and tactical
Clothing and Equipment
Conventional white cricket clothing and clean, non-marking rubber soled footwear must be worn.
Under no circumstances will studded boots or shoes be permitted in the Sports Centre at Rugby
School. However, studded footwear will be required for outdoor activities.
Students must bring their own cricket gear – bat, pads, batting gloves, helmet, wicket keeping gloves
if wicket keeping instruction is required, a cricket ball in good condition and a box. It is
recommended that pupils should bring one or two warm sweaters, since some practice will t
