PALOS VERDES, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Chadwick School, a leading independent K-12 school
based in Palos Verdes, CA, will open and operate a sister school, Chadwick International School, this fall, in the
New Songdo City in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, Korea. The new Chadwick International School represents
one of the most technologically advanced education facilities in the world and is currently accepting applications for
kindergarten through seventh grade for the 2010-11 school year.
The New Songdo International City LLC (NSIC), a joint venture between developers Gale International and
POSCO, built the 500,000 square foot school as part of its US $35 billion multi-phase commercial, residential and
industrial project also known as “city in a box.” Cisco is providing the complete digital infrastructure, wiring every
square inch of the city, and calls Songdo City the template for creating future ”Smart+Connected Communities.”
The Chadwick International School will provide English language K-12 education that offers a global perspective; is
balanced, innovative and dynamic; and fosters the development of students’ ethical standards and leadership skills in
a digital state-of-the-art learning environment. The new facility offers a glimpse into what schools of the future may
look like, with such hi-tech features as Telepresence; Smart Boards; digital projection; campus-wide wired and
wireless networks; and an eight-channel television production studio. Chadwick International School facilities also
include the 700-seat Broadway Theater; 156-seat Black Box Theater; Main Gymnasium with two full-sized
basketball courts and climbing wall; 25-meter pool; Library Media Center and Technology Center.
