Re : Hosting in Tunisia, September 2009
The purpose of this letter is to formally invite you, on behalf of the AICTO and in
partnership with Tunisia Telecom, to a hosted co-located meeting in Tunisia in
The Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), is an Arab governmental organization working
under the aegis of the League of Arab States. AICTO creation resulted from the will of
the Arab States which agreed to have its headquarters in the city of Tunis.
AICTO and Tunisia Telecom are honored to host this event as it is an example of how we
are bridging the digital divide amongst the various SDOs involved in important standards
such as Carrier Ethernet. By co-locating a joint workshop on Carrier Ethernet with an
interim session of IEEE 802.1 & IEEE 802.3, and a plenary of ITU-T SG15, this creates
opportunities to collaborate in areas of common interest to all organizations.
Our understanding is that the timing of the three sessions that will make up this event is:
IEEE 802.1/3 interim
IEEE/ITU joint workshop on Carrier Ethernet
Our proposal is to host the event in Hammamet, Tunisia. We are planning for attendance
to be about 300 people throughout the event.
In closing, we would be pleased and honored if you would consent to our hosting offer
for this important Carrier Ethernet event.
