CONGRESSMAN CHARLIE MELANCON PRESENTS FUNDS FOR NEW
POLICE CAR TO VILLAGE OF NAPOLEONVILLE
USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Grant Awarded
NAPOLEONVILLE, October 19, 2006 – Congressman Charlie Melancon joined
USDA Rural Development officials today in Napoleonville to present $24,750 in USDA
Rural Development grant funds to Napoleonville Mayor Darrell Jupiter for a new police
car.
The grant was awarded under the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities
Program, which provides grants, loans, and loan guarantees to develop essential
community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population.
USDA Rural Development provides a full range of rural development credit
services in rural Louisiana. The USDA Rural Development State Office is located at 3727
