I am pleased to give you a look into Rose Brooks Center by sharing some of the
stories from the women and children we serve. "A Day in the Life" gives you a visual
snapshot into the full continuum of care that Rose Brooks Center provides, including
its prevention programming, crisis intervention and other supportive services.
Rose Brooks Center has served the Kansas City community for more than 25 years
beginning as a crisis hotline, then a 19-bed facility, and today a comprehensive
facility with nationally recognized programs.
After you have read our 2004 annual report, you will have a glimpse into the reality of what many
women and children in our community face each day. Rose Brooks Center helps women and
children begin to heal from the effects of domestic violence and gain confidence in their stride
toward a new life free from violence.
As you read the courageous stories, imagine their walk toward safety, a renewed self-esteem,
financial and emotional freedom, and a realization of long-desired life goals. Rose Brooks Center
is honored to be a part of this journey toward independence. We strive to be a leader in our
