ELECTRONICS SUPERVISOR
JOB CLASSIFICATION
GENERAL FUNCTION
Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of crews engaged in the design, installation and maintenance of electronic,
electrical, traffic and telecommunication equipment and supervises outside governmental contracts.
REPRESENTATIVE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Note - This list is intended only to

Designs, installs and programs Variable Frequency Drive applications, Programmable Logic controllers and other
microprocessor based controllers including Remote Telemetry Units (RTU) and telemetry for Supervisory Control
and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
Installs and maintains radio and telephone equipment for SCADA, including masts and antenna supports and
maintains process control and instrumentation systems: such as analyzers, chart records, transmitters, radios, flow
meters, down to component level. Installs process piping and connections for instrumentation.
Reviews and corrects consultants' plans and specifications for process control, instrumentation, and electrical
systems. Inspects work done by others and instructs others on use of equipment.
Calibrates and checks instrument loops. Performs instrumentation startups.
Performs administrative tasks, such as preparing specifications, purchasing, specifying and inventory control.
Prepares cost estimates for jobs. Creates and maintains documentation, manuals, and records in printed and
electronic format.
Design and install electrical for pump stations, wells, reservoirs and CSO sites in accordance with state and national
codes and standards. Designs, installs and maintains control circuits for motors, control valves. Develops electrical
standards for equipment and installations.
Performs other electronic technician functions, such as mobile radio/cell phone installations, issues pagers and deals
